Soft Blue and Greenish Icon Coloring in CS2

Learn how to get the coloring effect shown below in Photoshop. Soft coloring with shades of blue and green. Any confusion, you can download the psd file at the bottom of this post.




1. Open your image. Duplicate the image and set the layer to Screen.

2. Go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color. Choose this color #4681e1 (blue) and set this layer to Soft Light with 84% opacity.

3. Go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color. Choose this color #f0d269 (orange) and set this layer to Overlay with 42% opacity.

4. Go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color. Choose this color #e793b5 (pink) and set this layer to Soft Light with 100% opacity.

5. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color. Use the settings below:
Reds: -25, -20, 50, 25
Neutrals: 100, 0, -31, 0

6. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Channel Mixer. Change the settings to below:
Output Channel: Red
120, -4, -38, Constant: 16

7. Next, go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color. Use these settings:
Reds: -100, 0, -23, 0
Yellows: 0, -100, 0, 0

8. Finally, flatten all the layers (CTRL+SHIFT+E) and crop your icon. Sharpen the icon if needed. Use the Smart Sharpen filter. This way you can control the sharpness of your icon.
